Wisdom Is from God

Day 2, Proverbs chapter 2.
Today verses 9-11 resonated with me.
9. Then you will understand what is right and just and fair --every good path.
10. For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul.
11.Discretion will protect you, and understanding will guard you.

Journaling Proverbs

'

Hey Everybody!
Hopefully you are still out there following this blog. I haven't posted here since 2012, WOW!
It's not that I stopped believing, I have no clue why I quit other than business.
I work with Student at church and the student director and assistant challenged us Sunday with reading the book of Proverbs the month of August because there is 31 chapters and 31 days, so a chapter a day.
I decided that not only was I going to read Proverbs I am going to journal it as well because I have had this journaling bible for over a year and haven't journaled the first thing in it.  I pray for God to give me a desire to do this and make it the entire month without missing a day.
Proverbs is a book of wisdom and I pray I gain much from not just reading it but meditating on it and journaling it. Chapter one is about we are to fear the Lord and stay away form sin by making good choices.
We are to let the group know which verse(s) spoke to us and today verse 33 stood out.
"but whoever listens to me will live in safety and be at ease, without fear of harm."

We have to be wise in our choices and fear the LORD, not a scared of Him fear but a fear of reverence for who He is.

See ya tomorrow for day 2!

I have linked to some of the supplies below using affiliate links but unfortunately some of the sets from Joy Clair have been discontinued.

Stampin' Sisters In Christ #23

Our Stampin Sisters In Christ challenge this week is set by Peggysue and she chose this verse.

"For you have been born again, not of perishable seed,
but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God."
1 Peter 1:23 (NIV)

Her challenge is, since most seeds come up as tiny green shoots, use the color green somewhere in your creation, not all over green, just a touch somewhere.
I chose this image I had had since Christmas and have not used yet to work with. When I think of seeds I think of the beautiful things that come from them like flowers, and this allowed me to use just a "touch" of green.

God Is Faithful!

Now it has been a over week since I last posted and I know many are you are wondering what is up because I was going to try and post more often here.
Well we had some chaos happen with my daughters graduation from Tech school. She was supposed to graduate the 19th of this month so we had planned to go down on the 15th so we could spend the holiday weekend with her and attend her graduation on Tuesday and head back home as she headed to Germany. The military moved her graduation up to Friday the 15th. We did not find this out until the night of the 13th so we had to hurry, pack up and leave. My hubby was out of town so we did not get there until 3:15am Friday morning and then had to get up at 6:00 to get ready to go to her graduation at 8:00.
She was scared that she was going to be shipped out to Germany as soon as she graduated that Friday night or Saturday morning. We immediately started praying and God was faithful and allowed us to spend the entire weekend together, She is now in Germany and I am back home so get ready for some posts. Thanks to those of you who knew my situation and said a prayer.

Stampin' Sisters In Christ #21

Good Sunday Morning!
This is the day the Lord has made let us rejoice and be glad it it. This weeks Stampin' Sisters In Christ challenge is hosted by Pamela and she choose this beautiful verse of scripture.

"Come, let us return to the Lord.
He has torn us to pieces but he will heal us;
he has injured us but he will bind up our wounds."
Hosea 6:1
What a beautiful verse and wonderful promise! God is always close to the brokenhearted Psalm 34:18.
Pamela challenges us to make the broken look beautiful...create a Mosaic, tear apart and stitch back together, or use the cracked glass technique. In some way have your image look broken.
I love how beautiful the Cracked Glass technique turns out. It makes my image beautiful even though it is broken. The stamp set I used is a new release from Sweet 'n Sassy stamps March Daffodil.

Scripture Challenge 2010

Patter Cross at Triple the Scraps is hosting another scripture challenge this year. She hosted one in 2008 and I wanted to participate and never did. Every other week she will give a Word on Sunday for us to search the scriptures on how it speaks to us and make a 6x6 page using 2 of them. I could only fit one on my page because of putting the definition of Hope. I have also journaled on the back several other verses reflecting Hope.

Week 1 is HOPE
this was taken from her blog
"As Christians, we have hope in Christ. We have hope in the resurrection. What are you hoping for? Are you hoping for a better 2010 than a 2009? Maybe you had some difficult trials last year? Maybe you even felt hopeless at times, or maybe even today you are weary and you feel like you have no where to turn. Well, I am here to tell you that just as God has provided for you in the past, He will do the same today and in the year to come. Look back at those trials. Can you see His provision and blessings? You can trust that He is able and He will provide. God is our hope for the future and in all situations. Are you looking to Him or focusing on the difficulty?"

For my 6x6 page I used the Blue hill papers from Crete paper and a Plain Jane stamp from Verve.
